Honoka'a barely beat Kohala the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Honoka'a blew past Kohala 11-1 on Saturday. The  victory was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on three straight.
 Josyah Umeda and  Jayden Salazar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Umeda   struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile,  Salazar   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (four). At bat,  Umeda  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4, while  Salazar  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Chrys Coelho, who  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Those  two  runs gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Issac Derego, who  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Honoka'a's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Kohala,  they are  on  a  14-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
 Coincidentally, Honoka'a and Kohala will both be playing Hawaii Prep the next time they take the field. Kohala will head out to face Hawaii Prep at 3:00  p.m.  on Wednesday, while Honoka'a will  host them  at 3:00  p.m.  on April 9.
