Even though the
Athens Bible Trojans scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the
Oakwood Academy Mustangs still came out on top. Oakwood Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Athens Bible and snuck past 59-56. That's another feather in the cap for Oakwood Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Oakwood Academy to victory were Jadon Williams and Will Lewis. Williams dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Lewis scored 17 points. The matchup was Lewis' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Aeric Reid was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Oakwood Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Athens Bible, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakwood Academy will take on Tanner at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Athens Bible, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Valley Head at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
