After flying high against the Clay County Panthers last Saturday, the Sherman Tide came back down to earth. Sherman fell 59-52 to River View on Thursday. Sherman lost against River View in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-48 score last time.
River View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Danielson led the charge by scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The match was Danielson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Justice was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Sherman's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for River View, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Sherman will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. Midland Trail will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for River View, they will head out on the road to face off against Montcalm at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Montcalm is ranked 81st, while River View is ranked 67th).
