Football Recap: Platt Gets the Win + How To Watch

While Platt's victory against Manchester wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers slipped by the Red Hawks 13-12 on Thursday. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austen Standish, who rushed for 45 yards and one score, and also threw for 122 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. What's more, Standish racked up 124.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. A healthy portion of Standish's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Jesus Vasquez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Manchester lost, don't look at Justice Powell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 66 yards and one TD, and also threw for 172 yards and one touchdown.

The win got Platt back to even at 1-1. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platt will head out to square off against Wethersfield at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Manchester, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
