The Scott Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ryle. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), Scott still had to take the loss.
Scott's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xarek Sarakatsannis, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Griffin, who scored 11 points.
Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Ryle, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dixie Heights at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Dixie Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Scott likes a good challenge. As for Ryle, they will head out on the road to challenge Campbell County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
