Mater Lakes Academy took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-40 victory over Stoneman Douglas. Considering Mater Lakes Academy has won three matchups by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mater Lakes Academy found their leader in underclassman Vanessa Vancott, who scored 34 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Vancott's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Alessandra Wandembergh was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight steals.
Mater Lakes Academy pushed their record up to 4-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Stoneman Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
