Baseball Recap: Cimarron Victorious

Cimarron played against Penasco on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Rickie Aguilar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Aguilar was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Urijah Martinez was incredible, firing off three home runs, 11 RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 4 RBI per game. Taven Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Cimarron was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .773. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Cimarron's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Penasco, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Cimarron will take on Dexter in a tournament on the 3rd. The Rams are facing the Demons at the right time seeing as the Demons are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Penasco, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 23-1 victory against Mesa Vista on the 1st.
