2A-1 Region III District 12 recap October 1, 2013
Whitney's Kelton Mansfield recorded the longest rushing play in 2A-1 Region III District 12 this season in his game against Clifton last week. Mansfield scampered for 95 yards on the play and finished with 215 on the day as his team beat the Cubs.
Palmer moved up to 536 from 571 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs were able to move up by besting Life Red Oak 52-38.
Brett Gilchrist threw for 349 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Rudy Ramos was a force in the backfield as Palmer beat the Mustangs.
Ramos was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 231 yards on 29 carries as Duke Dalton's team bested Clifton. Teammate Jake Anglin added to the ground attack by rushing for 46 yards.
Leading 2A-1 Region III District 12 in both passing and receiving yards, Kenneth Gilchrist's team's Gilchrist and Brunett have proven to be a lethal combination. Gilchrist has thrown for 1,458 yards this season, while Brunett has 34 catches for 507 yards. Life Red Oak's KAINE BLAKE leads the league in rushing yards with 889.
At the moment, the Wildcats are in fourth, while Godley is in second.
The Wildcats were the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Godley defeated Maypearl 35-17 earlier in the week.
