After 14 games on the road, Omaha Central is heading back home. They will take on the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Omaha Central put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Gretna East 67-33 on the road. Given Omaha Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Gretna East is ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Omaha Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daleron Thomas, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of D.j. Sterling, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic strolled past Roncalli Catholic with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 66-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Skutt Catholic.
Omaha Central's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Skutt Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Omaha Central beat Skutt Catholic 66-55 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Omaha Central repeat their success, or does Skutt Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
