Basketball Recap: Polo Extends Winning Streak to Three

Polo entered their tilt with Earlville on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 60-55 W against the Earlville Red Raiders. For the Marcos, this counts as revenge for the 54-41 victory the Red Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Earlville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Waite, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 15 boards. Waite continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Fruit, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

Polo's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Earlville, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polo will head out to square off against Milledgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Polo has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 171 points over their last three matches. As for Earlville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Serena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Earlville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
