The Daphne Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Theodore by a score of 58-56. While losing is never fun, Daphne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Theodore is ranked 82nd).
It was another big night for Houston Cunningham, who scored 26 points along with three steals for Theodore. The matchup was Cunningham's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden "JJ" Bush, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Daphne's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-9. As for Theodore, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daphne will be home for the holidays to greet Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Theodore, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Hewitt-Trussville at 1:30 p.m. on December 19th.
