Riverside has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the University School Preppers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Riverside's 21-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Gilmour Academy by a score of 57-54. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while Gilmour Academy is ranked 84th).
Riverside's defeat came about despite a quality game from Brady Mcknight, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Kirks, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, University School pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 77-55 defeat at the hands of Lutheran West. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points University School has scored all season.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for University School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
Riverside beat University School 76-66 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
