Selma is 6-1 against Kerman since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bears will host the Lions at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Selma 2.6, Kerman 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Kerman will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Selma extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Bears walked away with a 5-2 victory over Immanuel.
Dalilah Anes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Anes wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Miley Hollabaugh, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Emma Galaviz, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Kerman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hanford West 2-1.
Roxy Alvarez spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayanna Gonzales, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Grewal, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
Kerman's victory bumped their record up to 14-7-1. As for Selma, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Selma has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Kerman struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Selma beat Kerman 4-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
