Calumet moved up to 256 from 318 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western Peninsula. A 47-20 win over Hancock helped the Copper Kings improve their standing.
Calumet was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in the league. Earlier in the week, John Croze's team defeated the Bulldogs 47-20.
Northland Pines/Phelps' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cooper Kerner has thrown for 311 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Sam Lacko has six catches for 210 yards. Austin Ramesh leads the league in rushing with 684 yards.
A big matchup in Western Peninsula this week will be when Wright takes on L'Anse. The Red Devils are in fifth place, while the Purple Hornets are in third place.
L'Anse extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Baraga, 49-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
