The Greer Yellow Jackets posted their biggest win since December 11, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Laurens 58-29 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Greer has posted against Laurens since January 26, 2021.
Despite the loss, Laurens saw an underclassman step up: Nyri Allen scored nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Faith Jackson, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Greer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Laurens, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greer will take on Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wade Hampton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Greer likes a good challenge. As for Laurens, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. Riverside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
