The Desert Vista Thunder can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Corona del Sol 70-17 at home. Winning may never get old, but Desert Vista sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Swindle, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Swindle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shay Ijiwoye, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and five assists.
Corona del Sol lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashlee Peters, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Corona del Sol struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Desert Vista racked up 16 assists.
Desert Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Corona del Sol, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Highland the next time they take the court. Corona del Sol will head out to face Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Desert Vista will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
