Softball Recap: Ryle Wins Going Away Against Scott

Ryle was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Scott on Saturday. Ryle was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Scott. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Korlin Rechtin and Kam Patterson did most of the damage at the plate: Rechtin scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Patterson scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Patterson has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayne Patsel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Ryle hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Ryle's victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Scott, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ryle will face off against Cooper at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Ryle is facing Cooper at the right time seeing as Cooper is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Scott, they will challenge Dixie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
