The Dayton Dust Devils struggled with assists on Friday (the Spring Creek Spartans had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Dayton falling 41-26. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Dayton had strong showings from Kennidi Smith, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Ayisha Agee, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Agee hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Spring Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Youngblood led the charge by scoring 16 points along with nine steals. That's the first time this season that Youngblood scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Dimick, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Spring Creek, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.
