Baseball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors

The Creekside Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Creekside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Trinity Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Creekside will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Lincoln, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Creekside blew past Lincoln 10-3 on Wednesday. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Connor Balazic, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Parker Morton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against North Marion.

Brennan Bachtell Jr looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Gage Petrutz was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Creekside's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their record now sits at 3-0.

Creekside beat Trinity Christian Academy 8-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Creekside since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
