Tiftarea Academy is 7-2 against Terrell Academy since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tiftarea Academy Panthers will be playing at home against the Terrell Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Tiftarea Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-22 to Southland Academy. Tiftarea Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lane Cole, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 61 receiving yards. John Robert Walker was another key contributor, throwing for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Terrell Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Brookwood on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The losing side was boosted by Quindon Wright, who rushed for 354 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 19.7 yards per carry. Wright's longest rush was for an incredible 99 yards.
Tiftarea Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which lines up perfectly with their 1-7-1 record this season. As for Terrell Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Tiftarea Academy was dealt a bruising 47-15 loss at the hands of Terrell Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Tiftarea Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road?
