Northampton is 8-2 against Arcadia since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Northampton Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the Arcadia Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Northampton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Nandua by a score of 74-61.
Northampton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Anderson, who scored 21 points along with six assists and two steals. Ronyell Coston was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Arcadia scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Chincoteague on the road to the tune of 94-58. Arcadia has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Jordan Cropper, who scored 28 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of RonRico Bugg, who scored 20 points along with three blocks.
Northampton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Arcadia, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Northampton hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 74.9 points per game. However, it's not like Arcadia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 68.9 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for Northampton against Arcadia in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 102-58 victory. Will Northampton repeat their success, or does Arcadia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
