Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Davie's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

If Parkland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Davie, they should've done a better job of containing Cameron Owens. The Davie War Eagles blew past the Parkland Mustangs 70-50 on Thursday thanks in part to Owens, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Those five steals gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Jackson Powers, who had six points in addition to ten boards and three blocks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game.

Davie is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Parkland, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Davie will face off against Glenn at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Davie is facing Glenn at the right time seeing as Glenn is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Parkland, they will challenge Mount Tabor at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Tabor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Parkland likes a good challenge.
