American Heritage is a perfect 4-0 against Gulf Coast since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Patriots will take on the Sharks at 6:30 p.m. American Heritage's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Gulf Coast's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

American Heritage took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over West Broward.

Caden Garro looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, RJ Machado was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Zack Wilson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Gulf Coast unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Bishop Verot, falling 8-2.

Gulf Coast also got a good showing from Jack Johnson, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Thomas Eaton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

American Heritage pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Gulf Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

American Heritage was able to grind out a solid victory over Gulf Coast when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
