Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pewaukee

Pewaukee strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights 19-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Hailey Hutchens made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Hutchens was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Pewaukee got a massive performance out of Mya Bloedow, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Bloedow a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lili Levas, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Pewaukee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brookfield Academy only posted an OBP of .318.

Pewaukee pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 9.8 runs thus far. As for Brookfield Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pewaukee and Brookfield Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pirates are set to challenge their familiar foe New Berlin West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Brookfield Academy will take on rival St. Francis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
