Park City is 1-6 against Murray since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Park City Miners will head out on the road to take on the Murray Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Park City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 75-67 to Stansbury. Even though they lost, Park City's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cameron Wilson, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Duke Gordon, who scored 18 points.
Murray posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 69-48 margin over Tooele. Given Murray's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Tooele is ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Quinton Christman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Isaiah Beh was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Park City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Murray, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Park City hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.1 points per game. It's a different story for Murray, though, as they've been averaging only 64.4 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Park City lost to Murray on the road by a decisive 75-61 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023.
