Potomac Valley II recap Oct. 9, 2012
Tucker County extended the longest winning streak in Potomac Valley II this week by beating East Hardy, 21-16. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Mountain Lions.
Tygarts Valley's Brandon Pritt and Timothy Sparks have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pritt has thrown for 367 yards this season, while Sparks, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has eight catches for 127 yards. Kyler Doss from Pocahontas County leads the league in rushing with 569 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Moorefield takes on the Cougars. The Yellowjackets are in third place, while East Hardy is in second place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Warriors and the Bulldogs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Pocahontas County comes in having scored 61 this season, while Tygarts Valley has scored 46. Chris Sutton's team scored 6 points last week as it fell to Greenbrier West.
Moorefield made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,029 from 7,919.
