Chamblee and Arabia Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Arabia Mountain is hoping to do what Bethlehem Christian Academy couldn't two weeks ago: put an end to Chamblee's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Chamblee had just enough and edged Bethlehem Christian Academy out 55-52.
Chamblee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eston Mcdow out in front who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Simeon Stephens, who had eight points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arabia Mountain). They blew past Varsity Opponent 73-53 last Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Rams have posted since November 25, 2024.
Arabia Mountain's win came from a few key players Chamblee will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rance Mckenzie, who earned 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Shanks, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.
Arabia Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.
Arabia Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Chamblee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Chamblee and Arabia Mountain are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Chamblee hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.5 points per game. However, it's not like Arabia Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 55.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Chamblee came up short against Arabia Mountain in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 62-51. Can Chamblee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
