Fairfield has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Lakota East Thunderhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Fairfield lost to Lakota West at home by a decisive 49-32 margin. Fairfield has struggled against Lakota West recently, as their match on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Kimberlin Samples, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Lakota East suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Princeton by a score of 59-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Wednesday (55), Lakota East still had to take the loss.
Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Lakota East, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.
Fairfield suffered a grim 64-40 defeat to Lakota East in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Fairfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
