It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Alto ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats 59-57. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets who have now won three contests in a row.
Mt. Enterprise's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaegan Ash, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Ash's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tracey Thompson, who posted seven points in addition to 16 boards and three steals.
Alto's win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Mt. Enterprise, they dropped their record down to 6-17 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
Looking ahead, Alto will host Douglass at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Alto knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Douglass likes a good challenge. Mt. Enterprise does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
