Wiregrass is 8-2 against the Warriors since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wiregrass Kings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tuscaloosa Home Educators Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Wiregrass came up short against the Flyers and fell 59-48. While losing is never fun, Wiregrass can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 269th in Alabama, while the Flyers are ranked 88th in Mississippi).
Wiregrass' loss came about despite a quality game from Christian Miller, who scored 21 points. Brayden Treadaway was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa Home Educators pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 85-68 to Tabernacle.
Despite their loss, Tuscaloosa Home Educators saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caleb Farley, who scored 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was John Barrett Mancil, who scored 20 points.
Wiregrass' defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10.
Wiregrass might still be hurting after the 69-47 loss they got from the Warriors in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Farley, who scored 32 points. Now that Wiregrass knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
