Everything went their way against Greater Beckley Christian as Midland Trail made off with a 84-64 victory. Midland Trail has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Midland Trail to victory were Eli Campbell and Payton Bailes. Campbell scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Bailes went 9 for 16 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bailes has scored all season. Jaden Gladwell was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Greater Beckley Christian saw an underclassman step up: Keegan Davidson scored 32 points along with two steals. Davidson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Gunter, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Midland Trail pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Greater Beckley Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
Midland Trail will head out on the road to square off against Riverside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Midland Trail is facing Riverside at the right time seeing as Riverside is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against James Monroe at 7:15 p.m. James Monroe will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Greater Beckley Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
