After losing to Arcadia the last time they met, Francis Parker decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Francis Parker Lancers blew past the Arcadia Apaches 60-35 on Saturday. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.
Francis Parker found their leader in sophomore Tavid Johnson, who went 11 for 18 on his way to 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Amon Andrews, who went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points.
Francis Parker was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arcadia only racked up six assists.
Several Apaches players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Eteuati Edwards, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points. Eteuati Edwards continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tyrese Butler was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.
Francis Parker's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-10. As for Arcadia, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 14-10.
Francis Parker will square off against Maranatha Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Francis Parker knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Maranatha Christian likes a good challenge. As for Arcadia, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-53 win against Burroughs on the 27th.
