After a string of four wins, the Penn Kingsmen's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Concord by a score of 38-35. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Penn came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Concord is ranked 146th).
Penn's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Bonner, who scored 6 points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Miamba, who scored 4 points.
Penn's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Concord, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Penn will be home for the holidays to greet Bremen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to face off against Mishawaka at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
