The University Christian Christians will venture away from home to challenge the Keystone Heights Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. University Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
University Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 26-run drubbing they dealt Riverside on Tuesday. The Christians blew past the Generals 26-0. The Christians haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Dixie Tessier and Piper Tessier made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Tessier pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Piper tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dixie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. At bat, Tessier went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, four runs, and two doubles, while Piper scored three runs while going 1-for-2. Those four runs gave Dixie a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elissa Murdock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Surles, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
University Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Keystone Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to Fleming Island.
Keystone Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Cumbo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
University Christian pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Keystone Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Keystone Heights' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. It's a different story for Keystone Heights, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain University Christian's hitters?
University Christian took their win against Keystone Heights when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 13-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Christians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
