The Meadowbrook Colts struggled with assists on Tuesday (the River View Black Bears had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Meadowbrook received a tough blow as they fell 71-54 to River View. If Meadowbrook hoped to take revenge for the 74-44 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Several Colts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Ray, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ray has scored all season. Masyn Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
River View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Layton Massie, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Laired Williamson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Meadowbrook's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for River View, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Meadowbrook will head out on the road to square off against West Muskingum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River View, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Steubenville at 7:15 p.m.
