Lamar County has gone 5-0 against Social Circle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lamar County Trojans will take on the Social Circle Redskins at 5:30 p.m. Lamar County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Social Circle likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Lamar County didn't have too much trouble with Upson-Lee as they won 56-39.

Lamar County found their leader in freshman JaZiyah Foster, who posted 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Foster's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Makayla Watts was another key player, putting up 15 points and five boards.
Lamar County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Social Circle suffered their biggest defeat since February 21, 2024 on Monday. They lost 59-37 to Loganville Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Lions are ranked 126th).
Lamar County will have to keep a close watch on Jada Hyman and Brielle Price, a pair of players who had a big impact on Social Circle's prior game. Hyman went 8 for 20 on her way to 24 points and four steals, while Price scored seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Hyman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Lamar County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Social Circle, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lamar County has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 39.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Social Circle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lamar County strolled past Social Circle when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 53-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lamar County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
