The Covington Buccs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by Troy Christian on the road to the tune of 57-25. With Covington ahead 41-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooklyn Lavy, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Lavy has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Niles, who scored three points.
Covington's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Troy Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will take on Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Riverside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 564th, while Covington is ranked 162nd). As for Troy Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lehman Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
