Archbishop McNicholas will take on Clermont Northeastern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Archbishop McNicholas was able to grind out a solid victory over Roger Bacon, taking the game 7-2. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Natalie Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Jones was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Lucy Laudeman was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Kennedy Dehner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI.
Archbishop McNicholas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roger Bacon only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Clermont Northeastern got themselves on the board against Dayton Christian on Thursday, but Dayton Christian never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the WARRIORS.
Like Archbishop McNicholas, Clermont Northeastern also got a great game from a two-way player: Jenna Brown. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addisyn Baker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Avery Moell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Clermont Northeastern back to even at 1-1. As for Archbishop McNicholas, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
