Softball Game Preview: Federal Way Eagles vs. Kent-Meridian Royals

Federal Way has gone a perfect 6-0 against Kent-Meridian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Royals at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Federal Way couldn't beat Decatur on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Eagles came up short against the Golden Gators, falling 18-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Golden Gators: they've now lost eight in a row.

Serena Sailiai made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Sosephina Sailiai, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Kent-Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They lost 16-2 to Kentlake.

Kent-Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Federal Way, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Federal Way took their win against Kent-Meridian when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
