After flying high against the Russell County Warriors last Thursday, the Northside Patriots came back down to earth. Northside fell to Greenforest 61-55. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Greenforest is ranked 84th).
Despite the loss, Northside still got an impressive performance from Morgan Thomas, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah Davis, who scored 12 points.
Northside has fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 5-11. As for Greenforest, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Northside will look to defend their home court on Friday against McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. Greenforest will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Campbell at 9:30 a.m. on January 15th.
