Given Dana Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while Portola is ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dana Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Walz, who rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Noah Kucera also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Dana Hills' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Portola, their loss dropped their record down to 4-5.
