The Hickman County Falcons were the 55-38 winner over the Dawson Springs Panthers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hickman County ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-41 walloping at the hands of the Panthers on Saturday. Hickman County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.
Leading Dawson Springs to victory were Montgomery Johnston and Rex Blue. Johnston scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Blue dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Johnston also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Jaybird Plunkette was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Hickman County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Dawson Springs, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickman County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pilots at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Fulton County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Dawson Springs, they and the Cardinals will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Livingston Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
