McLean is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Washington-Liberty is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The McLean Highlanders will take on the Washington-Liberty Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games McLean has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
McLean's game on Saturday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Herndon by a score of 31-28.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Ball, who threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns. Kaelan Ferris was another key contributor, picking up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Washington-Liberty got the win against George C. Marshall two weeks ago by a conclusive 52-26. The result was nothing new for Washington-Liberty, who have now won five matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Jonathan Bhojwani continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 260 yards and six touchdowns. Bhojwani is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Louis, who gained 114 total yards and two touchdowns.
Having lost for the first time this season, McLean fell to 6-1. Washington-Liberty has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matches, giving them a 6-1 record.
McLean took a serious blow against Washington-Liberty in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 48-13. Will McLean have more luck at home instead of on the road?
