The St. Paul Flyers will challenge the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Paul is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
St. Paul came out on top against Buckeye Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Flyers blew past the Bucks 10-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flyers.

Landon Fries was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. St. Paul is undefeated when Fries posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-10 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Nate Griffin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, River Couch was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Zuccaro, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
St. Paul kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Central Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 18-11 to Plymouth.
Austin Gill was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Sam Lawrence was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
St. Paul's record is now 12-10. As for St. Mary Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Paul has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Mary Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Paul couldn't quite get it done against St. Mary Central Catholic when the teams last played back in April as they fell 10-5. Can the Flyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
