Aubrey Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Queen Creek let Tayla Falquez and Charli Dixon run wild. Falquez went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Dixon went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Falquez also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madison Peterson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Queen Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Pinnacle and Willow Canyon finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 tie on Saturday. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Kodi Crabtree spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
Pinnacle's tie makes their record 2-2-1 this season. As for Queen Creek, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Queen Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pinnacle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Queen Creek skirted past Pinnacle 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will Queen Creek repeat their success, or does Pinnacle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
