After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hardaway, the Columbus Blue Devils were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 40-32 victory over Brookstone. That's another feather in the cap for Columbus, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Columbus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kartier Ollervidez, who scored 8 points. Jayla Lockhart was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 4 steals.
Despite the defeat, Brookstone saw an underclassman step up: Carsyn Galligan dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Columbus' win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Brookstone, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Columbus will head out on the road to face off against Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jordan is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Brookstone will be home for the holidays to greet Glenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
