Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cornerstone Charter). They blew past the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix 58-7 on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-4.

Kaylen Williamson had a dynamite game for Cornerstone Charter, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Williamson a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Kamryn Stephens, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Cornerstone Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Cornerstone Charter's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-10. As for Winston-Salem Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Cornerstone Charter will have a chance to go back-to-back against Winston-Salem Prep: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
