The Calhoun City Wildcats put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Palmer, posting a 44-8 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Calhoun City, who have now won eight games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Jamajah Mayes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Mayes hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Shane Farmer did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Calhoun City's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Coffeeville and 2-8 Aberdeen (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.4% over those games). As for Palmer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Calhoun City will be playing at home against Eupora at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Palmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
