The Richton Rebels lost against the Heidelberg Oilers last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Richton falling 59-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Heidelberg: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nylah Robins, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Richton has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Heidelberg, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richton will take on Collins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heidelberg won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Forrest at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. North Forrest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Heidelberg is ranked 60th).
