Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lee Central). They breezed by the Midlands STEM Charter Mavericks to the tune of 76-38 on Thursday. With that win, the Stallions brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.
Chuck Harry was nothing short of spectacular: he went 8 for 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of MonTavius Holmes, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Lee Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midlands STEM Charter only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher Parker, who posted 13 points and three steals. Parker is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Chance Davis was another key player, putting up ten points.
The victory (which was Lee Central's third in a row) raised their record to 7-7. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Midlands STEM Charter, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
